Prof. Oliver Mallett：【20级DMAN】Fundamentals of Business and Management Research
This module introduces students to the essential fundamental underpinnings of management research, taking an approach strongly informed by the social sciences, relevant to such research. The module takes students through the initial stages of developing a research project beginning with an investigation of different philosophies of science which drive the assumptions that underlie research projects and inform their subsequent design; before considering how research questions may be developed and answered and how arguments can be made using data. The module also considers essential elements that occur early in the development of research projects, reviewing literature and consideration of research ethics. A final objective of the module is wider researcher development with dedicated sessions and master classes covering publishing and research outputs and how to publish in practitioner journals.
